Data Core Systems participated in Locked Shields 2023, the world’s largest live-fire cyber defense exercise hosted by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence (CCDCOE). Data Core Systems was represented by Cosmin Moldoveanu, Serban Savila, Gabriel Iorgulescu, Teodor Dan and Andrei Usurelu.
As a leading cybersecurity company, we were proud to be part of this prestigious exercise, which brought together over 3,000 participants from 38 nations. Locked Shields is an annual NATO’s CCDCOE cyber defense exercise designed to test and improve the preparedness of member nations and partners against large-scale cyber-attacks.
The exercise consists of a Red Team vs Blue Team training application, with Blue Teams composed of NATO CCDCOE member nations and their partner nations. In addition to defending systems, teams must report incidents, execute strategic decisions, and solve forensic, legal, and media challenges. Locked Shields 2023 plan was prepared by 400 organizers, creating more than 5,500 virtual systems for its purpose.
