Security

Data Core Systems is once again part of CyDEx, maintaining our tradition of engagement in this premier cybersecurity exercise held at the Palace of Parliament from September 24th to 26th, 2024. Organized by the Romanian Intelligence Service through the National #CYBERINT Center, along with key partners from major state institutions, the event aimed to establish an effective system for warning, alerting, and responding to cyber incidents. Over the three days, more than 500 representatives from 80 public and private organizations collaborated to strengthen efforts in addressing critical cybersecurity challenges facing Romania and the world.

CyDEx24: A Hands-On Approach to Real-World Cybersecurity Challenges

The event, organized by the National #CYBERINT Center, emphasized hands-on learning through a series of advanced scenarios that mirrored real-world cyber threats. For three days, participants investigated threats ranging from technically simple but highly effective methods to complex Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) attacks aimed at completely compromising networks, targeting both IT and OT infrastructures. CyDEx is not just a theoretical exercise; it provides participants with a chance to engage in practical and immersive experiences, where quick thinking, technical know-how, and teamwork are put to the test.

Our colleagues had a fantastic experience, participating in dynamic exercises that underscored the importance of collaboration in tackling complex cybersecurity issues. They found the activities to be highly realistic, conducted within a dedicated cybersecurity range, which allowed them to test their defense capabilities against threats to critical IT&C infrastructures. The hands-on scenarios left our team feeling empowered and equipped with new insights and strategies to enhance their cybersecurity practices.
